Every cordless drill/driver has a gearbox, which transfers power from the motor to the chuck in the form of torque and speed.
Transmission accomplishes two primary tasks. It first converts the high RPM output from the motor into low RPM. When the transmission goes bad in your drill, you will more than likely notice decreased rotation at the chuck (spindle) despite sufficient output from the motor.
