Over time this pin can sometimes work its way lose and become damaged / mis-placed.
In order to keep your saws running smoothly and at full power it is generaly advised to check and replace if necessary the holding pin when performing routine maintenance on your saws. If left too long this can cause damage to the gear housing / Gears themselves.
