Cork rubber pads reduce the heat build-up where the belt is pressed between the wood and the platten.

The material varies, however they all degrade after enough use and need to be replaced.

Using the correct plate ensures good sanding and helps increase the life of abrasives. Used for wood and metal type abrasive belts
